Progress toward Outcome

Mrs. Leb Sear, age 58 years is old living with 6 family members include her grandchildren age under 5 years old located in Ou Taki village, Ou Taki commune, Thmar Koul district, Battambang. Mrs. Leb Sear and her husband, Mr. Choeung Sari are one of the other householders had been selected for Catch and Consumption Monitoring survey. All the time they joined the interview for monitoring survey by the project, they were introduced about the advantages of preparing and consuming the essential of micro nutrient rich fish.

“Whenever I and my husband went fishing, I didn’t concentrate on small fishes or when we collected them from rice field ponds, stream and from the rice field paddy I usually just used small fish for my livestock’s food. Or when I wanted to cook them, I needed to remove the heads of the small fish and cooking just for family food” said Mrs. Leb Sear. “Since I was introduced by the project (teacher from VSG who interviewed me about our result of fishing for one week), and about the essential of micro nutrient rich containing in small fish and how to prepare, cook and consume of small fish, I had changed my cooking behavior without removing the heads of small fish and I made fish powder for my grandchildren” She added. “I and my husband would like to thanks to the project and donor who introduced and coached me about the importance of preparing and consuming small fish” added Mrs. Leb Sear  

Mrs. Leb Sear is not only a lady who has been applying the cooking method of small fish for her family and grandchildren, but she has been introducing to her neighbors, especially the villagers who usually buy small fish from her about the essential of micro nutrient rich containing in small fish and about how to make fish powder for children under 5 years old and for pregnant women.
